GLIAS, Selvig, and Finding New Summer Reads
Hi GLIAS friends!
It's Liz here! We’re only a very short week away from the official first day of summer – the season of searching for great beach reads, vacation books, and curl-up-during-a-sexy-thunderstorm stories. (Who else loves a good rumbling thunderstorm?)For authors, summer holds precious little time for relaxing. We sneak our reads in at odd, random moments, and the rest of the time we are at work pounding out stories because a) we have deadlines, or b) we have a weird obsession that makes us have to write, or c) we’re clinically insane.
Get Lost in a Story is a wonderful place to celebrate the works of the clinically insane among us and match them with obsessed (in the best possible way) readers. I hope you’ll take some time when you’re looking for your next good book to browse back through GLIAS’s virtual shelves to help you find it.
I’m so excited to have two new books being added to the shelves this summer. THE BRIDE WORE DENIM will be released on July 21st. THE BRIDE WORE RED BOOTS comes out September 1st. They’re cowboy stories with a big twist: they’re really about the cowgirls.

Pre-order The Bride Wore Denim:
The most exciting thing, for me, about the books is that they mark the start of an entirely new series, and I’ve joined the ranks of fellow authors who’ve experienced the joy and the fear of bringing a whole new set of characters, places, and storylines into the hands of our readers. It honestly is kind of scary.
My first series is set in my home state of Minnesota. I LOVE those books and I would have been content to write more stories set in my little town of Kennison Falls, featuring the talking birds, the crotchety farmers, the local restaurant, and the familiar faces. I’ll come back to visit them in the future—but it was time to move on.
I’ve moved to Wyoming. A huge ranch named Paradise. A family of six sisters and a long-lost cousin. Cowboys, military veterans, firefighters, and dinosaur hunters!
It’s just as hard for a writer to get to know her new residence and its residents as it is for readers to embrace them—but we sure give it our best shot! I’m now in full-blown love with my new town of Wolf Paw Pass, Wyoming and with Paradise Ranch and the Crockett sisters: Amelia, Harper, Joely, Grace, Kelly, and Raquel along with Cami, their cousin.
And wait until you meet their heroes!

Pre-order The Bride Wore Red Boots:
I’ll share more in July and September about the details of their lives. For now, I hope you’ll consider pressing the pre-sale button on either of my two new books and putting them on your reading agenda along with all the other phenomenal reads GLIAS has featured so far this summer. I and all my clinically insane writer-colleagues out there appreciate you, our readers, more than I can say.
And, with luck, we’ve given you someplace new and wondrous to explore and a great new summer escape!
Leave me a comment about your summer reading hopes and plans. I have a set of two (winner’s choice) backlist e-books and a BRIDE WORE DENIM first chapter excerpt for one summer reading fan.
Happy Reading!
